What It Takes To Be A Chanel VIC

Part two of the Chanel VIC series. The spend is only one part of it. The relationship, the frequency, and knowing which categories to focus on are the parts most people get wrong.

Again, this is just for reference, not a rulebook. Chanel does not publish any of this officially and experience varies by region and boutique. If your VIC experience looked different, we genuinely want to hear it in the comments.

The price list

Note: Chanel does not have official spend criteria. This is based on community research in the US. Results may vary by region and boutique.

Elite ~ USD 25k/yr
Elite Plus ~ USD 25-50k/yr
VIC ~ USD 50k/yr
VVIC ~ USD 200k+/yr

Don’t just focus on bags
Spending on RTW, shoes, watches and fine jewelleries, carries significantly more weight with your SA than bag purchases.

In Asia, being an RTW buyer reportedly qualifies you for Elite tier. Bag-only clients are often deprioritised.

Your SA matters
The same spend doesn’t always get you the same treatment.
Client who gets called first is not always the biggest spender, they might just have a better relationship with the SA.

There’s no formula on how to build that relationship. Be consistent. Be nice. And remember, one SA, one store. Switching boutiques means starting from zero.

Keep in mind
Unlike Hermes which tracks your cumulative spend history, Chanel cares more about recent spend.Past loyalty does not carry you indefinitely. You need to stay active to stay in the picture.
