The general guideline for pre-spend : bag price ratioÂ
1 : 1 → very good
1 - 1.5 : 1 → fair / expected
1.5 - 2 : 1 → high
> 2 : 1 → time to question things
Why your B25 cost more (or less) than others ?
Colour
Noir, Gold, Étoupe, Craie = highly sought after → higher spend
Rose Shocking, Vert Anis = less competition → easier to get
Leather
Togo/Epsom→ most wanted, most fought over
Exotic → forget it unless you're a VIP
Swift→ hard to maintain, lower in demand
Hardware
Certain hardware/colour combo demands higher price.
New vs. regular client
New = have to prove yourself first.
Regular = SA already knows you, your wishlist, and that you’d be back for more.
Remember, not all spend is equal
Higher impact:
• Fine jewellery
• Furniture
• Ready-To-Wear
Lower impact:
• Shoes
• Scarves
• Small accessories
For example, if you are looking for:
Noir/Craie + Togo + PHW = The holy trinity Everyone's chasing this. Expect 1-1.5x prespend and a long wait.
Trench + Epsom + PHW = Still competitive, but more realistic with consistent spend.
Open to any colour + any leather + any hardware = Your fastest path to get an offer.
Rule of thumb
If you’re already at a high pre-spend with no offer, Re-evaluate your SA relationship. Not just your spending.
